In _Du Fait de Cuisine_ there is a recipe for chicken soup for the sick, in
which you are supposed to add gemstones (the ones the physician
recommends). It sounds as though the gems are boiled in the broth, then
removed. Elizabeth says she posted the recipe to the list a while back.
