SC - spices vs. herbs?

Ok,
Spices are usually from the nuts, seeds and bark of a plant. For example:
cinnamon is from bark, black pepper is the seed, etc.   Herbs are usually the
green parts of plants: leaves (basil, rosemary, thyme), bulbs (garlic), flower
parts (saffron). Hope this helps.
