That would have been an interesting version!  kinda "welsh rare-bit" with
asparagus...  I wasn't expecting toast, but after all the discussions of
salamanders and such I was expecting it hot.  I found out later that not only
had there been *no broiler* available but the microwave was so archaic as to
not be useful.  It was still tastey tho.

(glad of her amateur cooks status...definitely would have flipped out in the
face of so many logistical challenges...)
