If you ask me, this is very dishonest and does a disservice to those 
of us with real allergies.  I can be honest enough to say that I hate 
tomatoes  and mushrooms, but that's just my tough luck if you choose 
to  cook with them (well, the mushrooms anyways) -- I can 
just choose to avoid that cheese and fungys pie that my husband is 
gleefully devouring.  When I tell you that I am allergic to alcohol 
of any kind in a dish, I expect you to tell me what, if anything, 
contains ANY FORM OF ALCOHOL so that I will not poison myself         
and end up in the hospital instead of enjoying what food I can.

I don't always know ahead of time whether or not I will be able to 
attend an event, so I can't always call ahead.  I never expect to be 
cooked for, but I do expect to be able to find a COMPLETE ingredient 
list so that I can be responsible for my own health.
