That is correct. :-) In fact Bombay sapphire gin contains all the medieval
spices we normally use like cubebs, grains of paradise, true cinnamon,
galengal, etc. In fact, I will stick my neck out here and say that the
addition of a few tablespoons of gin to a period dish if you lack the
necessary spices would be an ideal substitute. :-)
