SC - *OP* fillers for meatloaf *OP*

On the subject of oats in meatloaf... My family always made hamburgers with
oats in them, and I've had others look at me most strangely when I repeated
the recipe.

I just assumed that the oats were a standard method of bulking out the
burgers...  but then again, my father grew up in occupied Holland, so this
may be another example of cheap food for the meat-starved.
