we're asked:

are you referring to chicken in the lombard fashion, ie chicken wrapped in
dough, with bacon and beaten egg with spices? It's a version of the
familiar icelandic chicken from Cariadocs collection, but without the whole
sage, and with medieval spicing. From le Menagier (14th century French).
