I am one of the sad weirdos who has a freak allergy to all kinds of rice.
It is not life-threatening and will happily eat rice if I have taken
medication befor-hand. I always check menus when not cooking myself and
when I *am* in the kitchen the ingredients-list is at the door. I will
also quite happily cook around allegies that I have been notified of. If
there is too much of any one ingredient throughout the menu, then I let
the person know with plenty of time so that they can decide how to deal
with it. Sometimes we come up with a comprimise so that we can all have
fun without injury or discomfort.
