SC - Uses for lavender

Al-Baghdadi uses lavender in several recipes as a seasoning. I don't know if
dishes prepared by the barbarians to the North and Northwest contain this
delightful herb or not. Although I have many recipes and documents containing
recipes of the dishes prepared by the Northmen which they call "food" none of
those that are understandable to me at this time contain this ingredient. 

Perhaps someone more knowledgeable in the ways of the barbarians would have a
better idea of it's use and maybe share a recipe or three. :-)
