     My mom-in-law introduced me to Goldenrod Eggs after I married her son. 
     Her recipe is:
     
     Medium white sauce:  2 T. butter & 2 T. flour, cooked together in a 
     skillet to form white roux.  Add 1 cup milk and stir until thick.  Add 
     salt & pepper to taste.  Peel hard boiled eggs.  Separate whites & 
     yolks.  Chop egg whites into the sauce.  On plate, place slice of 
     toasted bread, cover with sauce and sprinkle with chopped egg yolk.  
     Alter amounts to fit size of group.
     
     So as not to serve *naked* food, I sprinkle with paprika or chives.
