Take a look at this file in the FOOD section of my Florilegium:

Back in the first week or two of this list there was a discussion on "how to
cook frumenty for the masses". A number of messages from this thread are now
in the above file. There are apparently some useful tricks when trying to
cook big batches of this stuff. This file also contains multiple recipes
and redactions for cooking this dish.
