I use my food processor all the time. Mine's a Sunbeam Orbital (an
Australian brand) which I bought 10 years ago. It's been great but I think
if I ever need to replace it I'd buy a Kitchen Aid, which is more versatile.
Robocoups are fabulous but their price here is astounding.

I use the chopping blades the most - great for fine grinding meat to make
middle eastern dishes (where the manual equivalent is hand kneading for
ages). Essential for making almond milk. Also the easiest way to make pastry
ever - process the fat and dry ingredients until it looks like breadcrumbs,
then add any liquid and process till it forms a ball - very quick. The
slicing blades are useful for slicing lots of onions or root vegetables.

The other tool I use a lot is the blender-on-a-stick (Bamix etc). You can
stick it in a big pot of soup and puree the lot, without having to cycle it
through your blender in batches. Also great for pureeing small amounts of
anything in a jug or beaker. Mine's a Braun and the stainless steel business
end disconnects for a quick wash - even goes in the dishwasher (another
useful tool..).
