Humm I have a slight problem here I subscribe to the SCA Ansterorran cooks
line so I expect SCA directed talk on food not revolutionary war or civil war
or English civil war I do not mind an occasional comment on those areas but I
would take offense if we allowed a regular discussion of non period food
pertaining to the SCA. If I want to know more on those areas I would subscribe
to those lists and I suspect that those who subscribe to this list who are not
SCA are just perusing for more info and I hope would not take offense because
we discuss SCA related food topics. Now as far as nobility is concerned noble
is as noble does I have known some pretty high up muckity mucks who are real
stinkers and some SCA related nobodies that are truly noble. I must say I take
a slight offense at the cook line about it being menial it is not! It is hard
at times back breaking labor of love for those of us who perform such tasks in
the SCA and at times thankless and unlike other art forms very transitory. I
would even go so far as to say one of the reasons for feast participation
falling is the experienced SCA cook having enough and calling that part of
their SCA career quits. I am sure some will disagree but that is my opinion
and it stands.
