Not me! The cold that resulted in my hummus/falafel mistake got worse, today
is actually the first day I've felt really well. We were kindly invited to
join fellow canton members for the meal. We potlucked a mostly traditional
turkey day menu. The baron was late, and brought wine instead of making green
bean casserole. My daughters helped me make cranberry sauce and we baked rolls
from frozen dough--after shopping for all the ingredients to make really nice
home made rolls I was too exhausted to do so. The only odd dish was
traditional for the woman that brought it: A filo pastry with feta/egg/sugar
filling. She explains her family says it is Greek, but they also tell the
story of the Greek grandmama not knowing how to cook when she came to America.
Back home, she'd come from the sort of family whose daughters didn't learn to
cook. As a result, Grandmama learned to cook from her Armenian immigrant
neighbors though none of them spoke each others language, or English. So, the
true origins of the dish *shrug*, don't ask, just eat. It's good and you're
too thin!

All in all, a good day. We brought home enough leftover dark meat to have our
traditional moo shu turkey day after meal, but there's nothing for sandwiches!
I'm going to have to buy a turkey breast just for that!

Bonne
