Thank-you, Bear. Increasingly I see a need for archealogical evidence of
kitchen management and cooking, esp from ages where the artwork and
documentary evidence is either unreliable or nonexistant. There are simply
some things that cannot be found in cookbooks. It's a great site and my
only wish is that it will be expanded!

While running a search I came across this interesting journal.  While not
specifically in our area of study, it has articles on Syrian ovens,
fire-laying, and other odd things.  You may wish to take a look.
