I don't know how many events you are basing this on, but this last event
was somewhat unusual in that it was across the road from a well know BBQ
place that many folks don't get to often. For those not in Bryn Gwlad,
the event was held about twenty minutes from the edge of town and like
most Ansteorra events was a Friday night though Sunday morning camping
event.

In my case, we had been planning to eat with other SCA folks at the
Salt Lick (the bbq place) on Friday night. The only other SCA person
I saw there was the baron picking up some take-out. I heard others
say they were going there for Sunday lunch. It may well have been
that a number of others decided to go there instead of the feast on
Saturday night.

Our average event attendance has actually been shrinking some over the
past few years rather than increasing, so I doubt it is the event size
that is causing changes.
