SC - Decline in members signing up for feast.... Opinions?

We are a small household, and I was actually being polite in blaming the
entire calamity on the last minute arrival of the visitors.  That is the
excuse we were given, but I believe the truth to be that the event was
overbooked.  Like you, I never could see how three visitors, no matter how
"Royal" could oust eight adults and one teenager.  As our reservations had
been made and accepted weeks ahead of time, we were offended, to say the
least.
