SC - Medieval cows

I am sure that animal husbandry has been going on from the earliest
times in every culture that raised animals.  I have heard that in
medieval times, they wanted a good wife that could have lots strong
children, they knew a good cow could have lots of strong calves.
Knowledge and cultures, rise and fall, and info is lost and relearned.
