Hello again,

just a short message to the lady who said that biscotti weren't 
period (I'm catching up on old posts after my trip):  try the recipe 
for Biskit Bread from the English corpus.  I've forgotten what book 
it comes out of - Huswife's Jewell, I think - perhaps someone can 
help me there?  I've made it (and cheated on the beating time, which 
was a bad idea - if it says beat it for an hour, 15 mins is not 
enough) and it was very close.  I cut it too thick and it was 
rocklike, but maybe you can do a better job.  It's basically standard 
biscotti with fennel seed (IIRC) flavouring, plus rosewater, and it's 
good.  Come to think of it, why not institute this hour-long 
cake-beating thing as a form of fighter training?
