My 1000 mile days are about 25 years behind me, back when I would quit work
on Friday, drive 500 miles in 7 hours, party for a day and a half, then
drive in for work Monday morning.

Now, I am a sedentary, married man, and it takes 10 hours to drive 500
miles.
