SC - Bulgy tomato cans

I really didn't complete my whole thought when I posted, I never use them
either. I throw them away. I just feel hesitant sometimes to talk to the
manufacturer because I sometimes can't remember how long I have had the
cans. We tend to go to sales and buy a case of something.

I just happen to notice that it is happening a lot lately on canned
tomatoes. Not one particular brand, not only on imported or domestic cans,
but a lot of cans.

I've had both the top and bottom bulging. I had one can of Pope tomatoe
paste that was oozing paste out the seam on the can.

I've gotten to the point where if I open a can of tomatoes and anything
fizzes out at all I toss it and I wash the can open and pour bleach on it.

I know it's not the room I keep them in because I don't have other cans
spoiling and the room is never over 70 degrees.

Anyway, I just wondered if others were experiencing it. I look at it this
way, I've never paid over $1 for a can of tomatoes, is it worth getting
deathly sick or dying over $1? I don't think so. I also think it's a
little funny because my mother canned tomatoes as well as other stuff all
the time and I don't remember it going bad as often as this boughten/safe
stuff.
