SC - Apology-rambling long-OT-OOP

It has been brought to my attention that I have been a little 'testy' lately.
For this I apologize. With 3 major cooking projects approaching rapidly and
having been off work for a week with a back injury, as well as assorted
personal things I have to contend with, I may have been a little short lately
in my posts. This was NOT my intention. :-(
It is also not my intention to have anyone take my posts personally. I
endeavor to make general statements regarding the subject matter not the
poster. When making general statements, I have an awareness that there are
exceptions.
For instance, if I say fresh picked apples are the best for a pie IMO, I am
NOT saying that drops or store bought apples can't be used. ((BTW, I've used
all three which is why I would venture the statement that fresh is best.
(Northern Spy the variety, lemon juice the 'secret' ingredient). :-))
Do I know everything there is to know about cookery? Certainly not! Cooking
is the one area that I find that the more I learn about it, the more I have
yet to learn. And this list has given me opportunity to learn things I would
never have picked up on my own.
Margali, Adamantius, Alys Katherine, Aoife, Bear, Mordonna, Gunthar, Cariadoc,
Elizabeth and MANY others have contributed more to my learning process than I
can begin to list. Questions from new people on the list and observations by
more experienced people have opened whole new areas of study than I could ever
have imagined possible.
Some of you have privately shared baby pictures, triumphs, hard times and
wonderful stories that will be retold in the years to come. I have sat at
campfire with a few of you and basked in the warm glow of friendship.
Anyway, I felt that this needed to be said. Forgive the bandwidth but all in
all we cooks do tend to be an emotional bunch. ;- ()
