The toasting wil;l help that rubbery texture.  Simply lay out in a
single layer at about 350F and shake often until a golden brown color.

The new cook also experineced a problem cooking in a bread pan (some not
glazed).  This will also be remedies by lining a sheet pan with
parchment and laying the glazed nuts out in a single layer....they all
get even heating and no STEAMING.  (toasting also will remove some
excess moisture)
