I thought Saint Patrick, who was not himself, Irish, ate all the snakes...uuurp.

How about roast or boiled beef, roast or boiled mutton, venison, all manner of
pork products, oats, barley, wheat, leeks, onions, kale, cabbage, watercress
and other herbs (baby nettles, sorrel!), domestic and game birds of all kinds,
herring, whiting, mackerel, prawns, lobster, oysters (just about anything the
North Atlantic can offer, in fact) plus brown trout, char (I think) and
various other river/stream fish. Of course, they did have some access to
imported things like some eastern spices, as well as more local stuff like mustard.
