But, my lady, it is a truism, only if you are dealing with water.  The
specific gravity of water is equal to 1 pint at 1 pound.  This is not
true of anything else as specifically.  But if you want to know how
heavy your filled water jug is going to be to lug back to camp from
the water spigot, remember, a pint is a pound, 8 pints in a gallon, 8
pounds to the gallon.  Those 5 gallon jugs can really add up.

But as to measuring anything else, volume oz and weight oz do not
correspond.
