I believe His Grace is trying to tell us he doesn't care for any saffron,
thank you! On the other hand, his reputation as a man of good taste has
already been shattered by the presence of eggplant recipes in the Miscellany,
so it just goes to show there is no accounting for personal tastes.

P.S. For those on this list who are not His Grace, who knows I'm kidding, I'm
kidding. I actually like eggplant, and take advantage of every 10,000th
opportunity to try it.
