SC - Question - Recipes for the low budget

My experience is that much of medieval cooking is as inexpensive as normal
home cooking and a good deal cheaper than what people usually do for
periodish SCA feasts. Pork and chicken are important meats, thickening is
with breadcrumbs. Lots of use of eggs. Inexpensive protein sources--and you
can use rice (with Islamic especially), turnips, cabbages, ... for the
non-protein part of the meal.
