SC - Air pollutants - OOP

     There are areas in my hometown (Alton, IL) we studiously avoided. Two oil 
     refineries and a tannery in the same neighborhood.  PU!  Makes chicken 
     houses smell like perfume!

This also goes for the leather workers, and some metal workers.
Ever smelled a smelter??  Birmingham used to have some really interesting 
smells before all the smelters closed.
