SC - question about period wededings

My lord (Drake) and I had an SCA wedding about two years ago. We were
still relative newbies in the Society so the event wasn't very
authentic.

Basically we had a private civil ceremony in the morning (invitation
only) and all guests were to be in garb (the wedding party was dressed
in 1540s English garb - which we made and gave to our attendants as
thank you presents). This was followed by an Elizabethan breakfast.

We then changed venues and hosted a Rose Tourney. This was an SCA event
but we covered costs and there were no admission charges.

All at the tourney were invited to the feast that night. Once again we
paid all costs and it was open to all.

Only the tourney was labelled as an SCA event. We paid all costs and
our friends helped run the day. One made the wedding cake, another
cooked the feast, another arranged the tourney etc, etc.

These were our wedding presents from these friends. I beileve a good
time was had by most (we had problems with his mother but the other
mundane relatives really enjoyed themselves).

Meliora.
