'Possums are so easy to catch, if you can find one. Simply scare it, and it
will "play 'possum" (it'll fall over and go stiff and pretend to be dead.) You
can just walk over and pick it up and it won't even move. BUT! If it's a jack
'possum you may have a problem. Sometimes the males can be just a bit
aggressive. He may not lay down and play dead. He may back into a corner and
BITE. Don't try to catch an aroused jack 'possum unless you have experience
at it. Get one of your red-neck neighbors to do it for you. I don't know how
many of my dogs wound up with nasty bite wounds on their muzzles. You'd hear
a commotion, then a YIPE YIPE YIPE from your favorite hound, and he'd be
traumatized for life.
