 Gee - you make that sound like a bad thing. Seriously, though, that stuff
 NEVER goes away if it gets half a chance. Same with sweet alyssum. Worse
 than kudzu!

Actually, I consider my once-neat chive border to be the kudzu of the North! 
Anybody want some chive plants?
