I forward this to the list from the Tavern Yard (Meridies' Chat List),
because I thought there might be some interesting commentary from here.

Subject: [TY] Fruits From 'New World'
This weekend my Beloved Gustavef and I had a running gag at a RenFaire a
bit north of LA. (well...3 hrs north of LA to be extact)
He presented a 'New World Fruit' (a pineapple) to Her Majesty Queen
Elizabeth. Her Majesty received the gift with great humor, and guarding
the Royal Pineapple became a running gag in our compnay.
My questions are:
1) Approximatley when did the Pineapple reach England (and
surrounding areas)?
2) Waht other 'New World' fruits were discovered and when...
Any suggestions on making a pineapple codpiece? (the things I make for
my beloved)
Thanks!

Greetings!
Here's something I have read about since grade school and have yet to
figure out what it is: breadfruit. What the bloody peat is it?
