My latest saffron find has been -- believe it or not -- at my local 
supermarket (altho is is a despised Ralphs!)  A company called Delish sell 
wonderful saffron for about $6.50 a gram.  It comes is 2 tubes of 1/2 gram 
each.  I've been buying them and giving the tubes individually as gifts and 
contest prizes.
