Margherita,

Welcome to the Greatest (and one of the busiest) list in the SCA.  We
like to sit around and share our cooking stories, ask questions of the
"experts" (of whom we have many!) or offer humerous stories or
incidents.

Many times we feel a strong opinion about something, and express it, at
times standing on a soap-box, but we are much too friendly and polite
to flame one another (though a couple of the discussions might have
gotten close to singeing ;-D )

After we say something with which we may get in trouble, before we are
caught and sent out of the kitchen, we all run to hide under the
"Rock".  This has developed into a very large and comfortable area,
with a large kitchen, a hot tub, and comfortable chairs in which to sit
and enjoy the odd bit of shortbread with our tea, or whatever we
prefer.

We hope you enjoy the cyber-world we have created.  Sit down, put up
your feet, and have some of these sweets I tried out last week.

 As requested, I am Mistress Margherita la Tessatrice.  (Don't be
alarmed, my 
laurel is in weaving, not cooking) I am a member of the Bright Hill
Cooks 
Guild and won our Trial by Fire cooking contest last July.  I like the
trophy 
and hope to hang on to this July.
 
 One Monday I told my workmates all about the marvelous time I had had
that 
week end.  I had spent 16 hours in the kitchen, washing dishes.  They
think 
I'm crazy.
