SC - gardening question

I am getting real close to trying that one myself. My mother lives about
thirty minutes outside of Austin in a semi-rural development. At least
one of the nieghbors have peacocks and penhens they let run free. Well
one of the peacocks has decided it likes some of the semi-cleared out
area near my mother's house. While peacocks sound rather exotic at first,
they are loud and get irritating after a few hours. This peacock managed
to stay outside of my rock throwing range while circling back around every
time I thought I'd chased him off. However, he was numerous times within
range of my SCA combat legal crossbow (approx. 30 lbs only). I'm thinking
of taking it out and some combat quarrels (thistle missle and balder tips).
While those won't kill him, they might persuade him to leave.

Then again, I do have period recipes for peacock in my files. Or there
is the idea of tanning the skin and using that and the feathers over
another bird for a feast. But I've never skinned anything. However
there may be some local folks who have...
