Would this by any chance be a reference to Vidalia Onions?  The sweet bermuda 
onions grown around Vidalia, Georgia?  Oh, my, another "home" food I miss out 
here in this barren desert.  We ordered a 50# bag along with some friends 
about a year and a half ago, but when they arrived they had been bruised and 
cold damaged. <<sigh>> Vidalias are wonderful, but they do not travel as well 
as most bermuda onions.
