<< My dilemma is: what kind of persona may I choose?>>

What you are most interested in.

 <<Which are the criteria
 to choose a persona? >>

See above.

<<Should I choose a woman or a man? >>

Either a man or a woman would be ideal since other people such as elves are
unwelcome and prohibited from some events even though they were definitely a
race of humans because they could interbreed with other humans.

<<A noble or a bard
 or a nun?>>

All SCA personas are considered to be of noble birth. Bard would be a
function of your persona should you choose that route. Although there are nun
and monk personas, the organization as a whole frowns on religious persona
(or indeed religious expression of any kind) (Ask me privately, I am a pagan
and have a story or two to tell. :-)).

<<Should I have someone from the Andalusian >>

>From a personal viewpoint Andalusian would be the ideal persona. They are
after all the most Western of European cultures which would be most logical
if you interpret 'Western Culture' as specifying European culture which I
don't despite the revisionist history of the SCA that has been promulgated
the last couple of years.

<<or from the Italian, from the
German or from the Nordic culture?>>

Whatever floats your boat is my suggestion. Although Italian and Nordic is
way overdone in the organization because it is easy to do, IMO.

<<My favorite middle age people are Eleanor of Aquitaine (mother of
Richard Lionhearted), Christine de Pisan (one of the most known woman
troubadour), Hildegarde of Bingen (abbess, musician and doctor), among
 the women.>>

Hildegarde is the greatest! (After Elizabeth I, of course :-)). I absolutely
LOVE her music. She is my favorite musician of all time. ;-)

<< Among the men Gilles de Rais (accused to be the awful Blue Beard),
 Leonardo, Dante, Erasmo of Rotterdam.
My "mundane" profession is a bard, since I am a writer and a journalist,
and a scientist, if you consider my anthropological education. Besides I
am a catholic, raised by German nuns and with a cousin who is a bishop.>>

Women in the SCA occasionally do cross gender personas and few people make
any comment about it although the reverse is inexplicably not true.

<< But I am fascinated by Spain during the Middle Age, a time and a place
there three religions and cultures could live and interact,....<snip> about
the Spain before 1492.>>

Then Andalusian sounds perfect for you, IMO. Welcome to the civilized world!
:-)

<<My other fascination is the Crusades>>

Overdone.

<<And about Byzantium.>>

Lack of period information in most areas outside martial or religious stuff.

<<Believe the choose of a right "persona" can help me to develop abilities
and knowledge ...etc.>>

Exactly! You now have an understanding of part of the Dream! :-).

 <>

This is definitely an important factor. Good luck in your choice.

 <<Thanks in advance
 Ana >>

No problem. :-)

Yours in Service to the Dream,

Ras
