Interestingly enough, usage in period for the word "pastillum" would be
more likely to refer to bread than cake. The shift to it and related
words, such as pastille, in reference to cakes would actually appear to
be a Renaissance usage. So more properly, redacting recipes is a piece
of bread.

I knew you'd want to know, Ras! ;  )
