Giggle.  Once heard a similar story.  A bride's husband asked her why she
was cutting the end off a roast.
Mama did it that way.
So they went and asked Mama *WHY* she always cut the end off a roast and
cooked it separately.
Mama did it that way.
But why?  They went and asked Gramma.  Turns out Gramma didn't have a pan
big enough to cook the holiday roast...
