I usually do not correct anyone's spelling or choice of words, but I just GOTA
ask...
(Since I used to live just a few miles from there) is "vandalia onion" the same
as Vidalia onions or is it something else??

"Cause a recipe that my Aunt-in-law (from Vidalia) would always make is:

Vidalia Onion Pie

1 1/2 cups soda cracker crumbs
1/2 cup melted butter
2 1/2 cups thinly sliced raw Vidalia onions
2 Tbsp butter
1 cup milk
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 pound grated cheddar cheese

Mix crumbs with melted butter and press into a 10-inch pie pan. Sauté onions in
the 2 Tbsp butter and pour into crust. Scald the milk and add slowly into the
eggs. Add grated cheese and stir until the cheese melts. Pour over onions and
bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
