Dear cousins:

Once again the armies of the Known World are massing in our sylvan kingdom 
and the drums of War are beckoning me forth in defense of my fair 
Aethelmearc. And so I leave you this missive hoping the bearer finds you in 
good health. 

My bow is oiled and my arrows sharpened. The enemy waits to be driven like 
sheep to the slaughter. If perchance I should not return but pass into 
Paradise please know that you have been good friends and I shall prepare for 
you a feast fit for the King above all Kings where we can sit in eternity 
lifting our cups in praise of heroic deeds.

However, should I survive the coming battles unscathed, I can assure you that 
you shall once again have the pleasure of reading the words of this GOF.

And so I close until we meet again if it be God's will,
