Regardless, Pinnotheres ostreum lives as a commensal in the gill cavity of 
the oyster or, rarely, in the gills of other shellfish. It is tasty and is 
considered a gourmet treat. You might want to inform your server that they do 
not eat their host but coexist with it. What a shame that such a tasty morsel 
was wasted through ignorance. :-(
