SC - What's a "redaction?"

I must admit that I was a bit puzzled by this usage of the word when I first
subscribed to the list but I´m not a native English speaker and this seemed
to be more or less the accepted term, so I thought this was correct usage
and therefore have used "redaction" myself. I will try to avoid this word -
or rather, use it correctly - in the future.
