      When I first learned to cook, it was during WWII and food was
rationed. My grandmother would mark the milk bottle with a crayon and tell
me to pour it in the bowl little by little until I got down to the mark. I
don't think she ever owned measuring cups and spoons. I think we do but I'd
have to ask Bear where they are except for the large measuring cup (which
makes a good pitcher). I have been known to measure when I am making a dish
for the first time, but usually just use my hand for dry stuff and look and
listen for wet. I've only gotten too much when I got in a hurry - a sure way
to spoil a dish. Margarite
