wouldn't it be more appropriate to mention that chocolatl as
a drink was reserved for Moctezuma's use, and the lesser
nobles and commoners used cacao beans as coinage? it was
mentioned that he would drink it as a restorative before
visiting one of his wives...And that Cortez brought back the
recipe for the drink to Spain where it was modified to suit
european tastes.
