If you need something to put butter/herbs/etc into meat, but don't have a
larding needle or someting similar, you can go to your local pharmacy and
ask for the biggest syringe and needle they have, and see if they'll sell it
to you. Make sure you tell them what you are going to use it for. I sold one
a few years ago to a couple at Thanksgiving to herb butter their turkey, and
the needle was a good 2-3 inches long. You can also get a horse-caliber or
larger syringe and needle from a Vet if you ask. My mom used to buy a couple
a year from our Vet when I was a kid to do the same thing to our
Thanksgiving turkeys.

Now that I think about it... maybe those things are what caused me to
develope a fear of needles ::grin::
