SC - Making Period "Barrels" for serving at Feasts

Another thought for you:  Water-cooler carboys--5 gallon jugs which used to
be glass and now are plastic--when they're maded of glass they're
occaisionally spotted in the company of brewers <wink>.  The plastic ones
would probably survive being coated with the stuff theaters use to make
lightweight "marble columns".   Plastic jugs cut down & fixed up could
become a nice urn perhaps?  An iron cauldron?  Let us know what you do.  I
dont' have space to store any of this stuff so I can only dream...
