It might be little bear but that is unlikely as Bear in Spanish is oso. It
could be a slang term for teddy bear or something.

While trying to check it out I found the most interesting web site. They
have translation dictionaries and offer translation courses online for free.

http://rivendel.com/~ric/resources/dictionary.html

And while I was there I learned that there are three wordsin Spanish for
tablespoon. Wow you learn something new everyday.

Unfortunately i learned of nothing that Bimbo stood for. Maybe it is a
family name or a slang term which wasn't listed.

Murkial

BTW there is a catalan dictionary and learning site if anyone is interested.

According to the dictionary, it meant a thick headed person as early as
1919,
but I haven't accessed the OED yet. Maybe they weren't referring to a blonde
female thick headed person then, but...

I'd bet on it meaning something like baby ... although it's more common to
see it as bebe. The Bimbo baked goods I remember seeing had a little bear
printed on the wrapper.

That might explain the long blonde hair in my bagel.... ;-)
