And thus cherry tarts were invented... :-)

BTW, the cookies that I made for that occasion were shrewsbury cakes (thin,
spiced butter cookies). These are usually round, but since the theme was
Valentine's Day, I used a heart-shaped cutter. Naturally, being thin and
crisp, they tended to break. :-(  :-)
