SC - appealing zests

I've taken match stick sized strips of peel sans pith and extracted the oil
with brandy.  I place/stuff the peel in a small jar and cover it with brandy
or vodka.  After a month or two the peel strips lose their orange color.
I've used the flavored alcohol in an orange sauce for duck to good effect.
